Your Invisalign® process
Step 1: Initial Consultation
Your Invisalign treatment begins with a comprehensive consultation at Dentélle by WDC. During this visit, our experienced dental team will evaluate your smile, discuss your goals, and determine if Invisalign is the right treatment for you. We’ll take digital impressions and photographs of your teeth to create a precise treatment plan tailored to your needs.
Step 2: Custom Treatment Plan
Using advanced 3D imaging technology, we’ll create a detailed digital model of your teeth and map out the movements needed to work toward your smile goals. This customised treatment plan gives you an overview of how your teeth are planned to move throughout the treatment.
Step 3: Receiving Your Aligners
Once your treatment plan is complete, your custom Invisalign aligners will be tailor made for your smile. You’ll receive several sets of aligners to wear for about two weeks each. Our experienced dental team will guide you on how to wear and care for your aligners.
Step 4: Wearing Your Aligners
You should wear your Invisalign aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day, removing them only for eating, drinking, brushing, and flossing. Your aligners will gently and gradually shift your teeth into their new position. You’ll send progress scans to Dentélle by WDC using the Dental Monitoring App, which means you’ll only need to come and see us if your teeth are not tracking as anticipated.
Step 5: Maintaining Your Results
Once your Invisalign treatment is complete, you’ll be given retainers to wear at night to help maintain your newly aligned smile. Our team will provide you with detailed instructions on how to care for your retainers and keep your smile in good shape.
Risks and Recovery
Like any orthodontic treatment, Invisalign comes with potential risks and recovery considerations.
Possible risks include:
- Mild discomfort or pressure when changing to a new set of aligners
- Temporary irritation to the cheeks, lips, or tongue
- Short-term changes to speech, usually resolving as you adapt

- Brush gently: Use a soft-bristled toothbrush to gently brush your aligners with clear, anti-bacterial soap. Avoid using toothpaste, as it can be abrasive and cause scratches.
- Soak daily: Soak your aligners in Invisalign cleaning crystals or a denture cleaner to keep them fresh and clear.
