While dental emergencies can be stressful, knowing how to handle them can make a big difference. Here are some tips to help you manage common dental emergencies until you can see us:

• Severe Toothache: Rinse your mouth with warm water and use dental floss to remove any food particles that may be causing pain. Apply a cold compress to reduce swelling and take over-the-counter pain relievers if necessary. Applying clove oil to your affected tooth can help to reduce your pain.
• Knocked-Out Tooth: Handle the tooth by the crown (the top part), not the root. Rinse it gently with water if dirty, but do not scrub or remove any tissue fragments. Try to place it back in its socket or keep it moist in milk or saliva and seek immediate dental care.
• Broken or Chipped Tooth: Rinse your mouth with warm water and save any broken pieces. Avoid extremely cold or hot drinks and do not chew on your broken tooth. Contact us promptly for treatment.
• Lost Fillings or Crowns: Use dental cement to temporarily cover your exposed tooth. Avoid sticky foods and contact us as soon as possible for a permanent fix.
